Jenison Wildcats Varsity Grabs Lead in Sixth Inning to Defeat Fruitport
Jenison stole the lead late and defeated Fruitport 8-3 on Tuesday. The Wildcats were down 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Emily Mouat singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs. Emily Siler led the Wildcats to victory in the circle. She went two innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out one and walking one. Kaitlin Johnson started the game for Jenison. She surrendered three runs on eight hits over five innings, striking out nine and walking zero. Jenison tallied one home run on the day. Kassidi Hill went for the long ball in the sixth inning. The Wildcats racked up nine hits. Abbi Morse and Toni Freyling all had multiple hits for Jenison. Freyling and Morse each collected two hits to lead Jenison.
