Jenison Wildcats Varsity Takes High-Scoring Game From Grandville, 13-9
Scorekeepers were kept busy today during a high-scoring contest between Jenison and Grandville where Jenison prevailed 13-9. Jenison got things started in the first inning. Emily Siler doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. The Wildcats put up six runs in the fourth inning. Jenisons big bats were led by Evelyn Blood, Addison Hansen, and Kaitlin Johnson, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Johnson was credited with the victory for Jenison. She surrendered six runs on nine hits over four and a third innings, striking out four and walking one. Siler threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen. Jenison tallied 13 hits in the game. Siler, Blood, and Hansen each had multiple hits for Jenison. Siler went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead the Wildcats in hits.
