Late Score Costs Jenison Wildcats Varsity Against Portage Central
Jenison stayed in it until the end, but Portage Central pulled away late in a 10-3 victory on Thursday. The game was tied at two with Portage Central batting in the top of the fifth when #13 tripled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.
Jenison lost despite out-hitting Portage Central eight to seven. The Wildcats got things moving in the second inning, when Kassidi Hill singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Emily Siler took the loss for Jenison. She allowed seven hits and ten runs over seven innings, striking out 12. Jenison totaled eight hits. Hill and Kaitlin Johnson each managed multiple hits for Jenison. Hill went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Jenison Wildcats Varsity in hits.
